About the Speakers:
Air Marshal M Matheswaran AVSM VM PhD (Retd)
Air Marshal M Matheswaran is an Indian Air Force veteran with 39 years of active service. He retired as Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for policy, plans, and force development (DCIDS-PP & FD) in HQ IDS, MOD. As DCIDS he was responsible for Long-Term Integrated Perspective Plans, Technology Strategy, and Force Structure planning. Currently, he is the Founder-President of The Peninsula Foundation, a policy research think-tank based in Chennai.
Dr. Chaitanya Giri
Dr. Chaitanya Giri is a Consultant for Space Policy & Space Diplomacy at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, India, and an Affiliate Scientist at the Earth-Life Science Institute, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Chaitanya was earlier the Fellow for Space and Ocean Studies at Gateway House, Mumbai and prior to that worked as a planetary scientist for a decade. He has been a visiting scientist at the Carnegie Institution for Science, US, the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, US, and Synchrotron SOLEIL, France. He has a doctorate in Chemistry with a specialisation in analytical astrochemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, Germany, and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France.

Dr. Anand V
Dr. Anand V. is an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations (DGIR), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). He has previously worked as an Outreach Fellow at the Centre for Air Power Studies, New Delhi. Dr. Anand holds a PhD from DGIR, MAHE. His PhD topic was “The Evolution of China’s Strategic Culture and its Geopolitical Significance and Implications.”
