Roundtable discussion – “Shadows of Displacement: The Threat of Human Trafficking of Refugees in India

This roundtable builds on insights from our previous discussion on India’s Handling of Refugees: Balancing Humanitarian and Security Issues, emphasising the urgent need to address refugee human trafficking. Following expert recommendations, The Peninsula Foundation is developing a proposal for an interdisciplinary research project on the impact of trafficking trends on refugee populations in India.

This roundtable will help shape the proposal, which aims to secure government and other funding to support a comprehensive study. The findings will inform policy improvements, enhance protection frameworks, and strengthen collaboration among state authorities, NGOs, and international partners.
