Professor R N Swarup

Professor R N Swarup is Managing Trustee and Vice President for Academics & Research at TPF. He is the former Head and Chair of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies in the University of Madras, Chennai. A former Army Officer, Professor Swarup is a 1965 war veteran. He obtained his PhD in Political Science from the University of Allahabad, and was in the faculty of the same University’s Department of Defence Studies, which is the oldest Defence Studies Department in India. Subsequently, Professor Swarup helped set up the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies in the University of Madras in 1976.
