Brigadier Ranjit Borthakur SM (Retd) is an Indian Army veteran with 35 years of service. Starting as an Infantry Officer in Garhwal Rifles in 1977, he later transferred to Intelligence Corps in 1984. He commanded an Intelligence Unit in active CI operations in the Northeast as well served in CI environments in the Kashmir Valley. Post-retirement he is settled in Guwahati, Assam. He writes regularly in newspapers( vernacular as well as in English) on contemporary issues.
