Industrial Revolution 4.0: The Transformational Paradigm
Chennai, 23rd September 2020 | The Peninsula Foundation (TPF) organized an Online Panel Discussion on the topic “Industrial Revolution 4.0: The Transformational Paradigm.” Our esteemed panelists were Mr. Sumit Agarwal, Senior Research Director, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Gartner, USA, Mr. Deepak Mittal, Chief Executive Officer, NextGen Invent Corporation, USA and Dr. Shuktij Singh Rao, Chief of Infrastructure, Tata Power- SED. In Chair was Air Marshal M Matheswaran (Retd.), Founder-President, TPF.
After the opening remarks by Air Marshal M Matheswaran (Retd) where he welcomed and introduced all the speakers and briefly touched upon the topic, Dr. Shuktij Singh Rao started the panel discussion by providing a base-line presentation on the fourth Industrial Revolution. He further talked about the wide array of possibilities innovations like Blockchain, 3-D printing, advanced robotics will have in IR 4.0.
Mr. Sumit Agarwal, Senior Research Director at Gartner USA, started his address by discussing the different versions of IR 4.0 in different parts of the world. He then talked about AI and connecting it with business value. He concluded his pitch with an action plan to operationalize AI technologies into businesses.
Mr. Deepak Mittal, CEO at NextGen Invent Corp, shared the four foundational services his company offers along the IR 4.0 value chain, namely; analytics and intelligence, human-machine interaction, advanced engineering and connectivity, data and computational power. He further outlined 7 key areas that contribute to the success of an IR 4.0 initiative before concluding his presentation.
