Sylvia J. Martin holds a PhD in Anthropology. She is the author of the book Haunted: An Ethnography of the Hollywood and Hong Kong Media Industries (2017), and numerous articles on globalization and the intersection of narrative and the U. S. national security state. She has taught in Hong Kong and the United States.
